Rock art exchange and junior ranger program

Recently Jawoyn rangers teamed up with Kakadu Rangers to undertake rock art surveys in Bulajung/ or sickness country. There are many strong and mens sites in the area and Jawoyn protocol must be adhered. Some useful techniques of documenting the sites were demonstrated and much maintenance of sites was performed. Maintenance includes removal of leaf litter, debris and vegetation matter take could burn causing smoke and heat stress for the art and artefacts. On the last day the kids from Pine Creek School came out to a safe site and were taught the tricks of the trade as part of a junior ranger program.
